What do you get when a creative, handy advanced hobby diver, who is fond of camping, has a relationship with a sporty, enterprising woman who has a penchant for hand care and is used to hotel trips? Well simple, a couple who buys a camper, develops diving activities together and runs a nail studio!
When they went to live together, one of her first actions was to follow a diving course so that they could participate together in a diving holiday with the dive club where hubby is actively participating. Getting that diving certificate went pretty smoothly. The diving holiday, in a hotel, was very successful, although diving abroad together with a group of routine divers was quite a tough job for her.
A tent is very far from a hotel trip and changing clothes for diving in the Netherlands can be quite chilly. That is how the idea of a camper came about. A luxury tent with freedom; a simple hotel room on wheels and a nice warm dressing room during diving activities, in which the inner man comes into its own. Something that makes both happy. It had to be one that he could use as a creative handyman and not entirely unimportant … provided with a nice price tag.
At one point they spotted a nice “old” Mercedes camper van who passed the inspection and with a build-up based on a wooden frame, so that all the dreams they cherished could be realized by themselves.
After a short test period, they knew what they wanted differently in terms of design. The bed had to be more convenient. Every night they had to make the cushions of the sitting area into a bed and they had to hide their feet in a locker, they wanted to get rid of it quickly. That was possible too, but then in the back of the camper some space would have to be created to make the existing one-person bed a two-person version.
The handyman went to work energetically. There was a trundle bed for two, the electricity and gas got a boost and the kitchen was renewed. She gave the interior a fresh brush of paint; his mother made new pillows. The whole was completed by a laminate floor. This resulted in a top camper with, of course, a sea of LED lights.
The exterior of the camper will be the next challenge, but the mobile hotel room is already eagerly used. If there is a party, the camper will be installed on a quiet campsite nearby and they will cycle by bike to the location, so they can have a drink or two. The camper is also a success for diving. A nice warm changing room and afterwards they chill with a snack and a drink. We are happy to join them! The camper is also enthusiastically “booked” by the handyman’s parents. The larger trips come later; the plans are in the making, but time is still lacking.
While hubby spent time with jobs and chores, she trained as a nail technician. Gel, acrylic, IBX, spa manicures, problem nails, we have heard many, for us new, terms and her mother was a willing “victim” to practice on. From a bedroom in their home they made a beautiful nail studio, equipped with all comforts. A wall is adorned with all diplomas and certificates, so let the customers come.
Our fantasy is tower high. We see the two of them moving from camping to camping in a pink-painted camper and offering nail-care treatments to the camp site. In which she takes care of the treatments and he places the crush barriers, takes care of the catering and monitors the safety of all people standing in line of the treatment. And if it becomes too much for them … then they just dive under water. Perhaps we get carried away too much?
But all joking aside … one thing is certain: For expertly groomed hands you can go to Fijnaart. “Nails by Els” is ready for it!
Els would love to be able to treat you and we wish them many fun camper and dive adventures and a flourishing nail studio!
